First of all, welcome! We are glad you chose to participate in this hobby many have come to love over the years. If you are interested in competing in a Rubik's Cube Competition in the US South, you have come to the right place! Take a look at our website and the World Cube Association website for more details.
WCA Competitions are Rubik's Cube Competitions officially recognized by the World Cube Association, the main governing body for Speedcubing. Over 9000 WCA competitions have been held in 115+ countries, and 150+ competitions have been held right here in the South. You can learn more about the WCA here.
Anyone! If you can solve the cube, no matter what time it takes you, you can compete. Some side events may have cutoffs and time limits, but if you want to compete, we strongly encourage you to do so! All ages and skill levels are welcome.
To register for a World Cube Association Competition, create a WCA account here. Find out when registration opens for a specific competition you want to go to by looking at the registration requirements on that specific competition's page. Registration can fill quite fast, especially for Texas competitions, so have a credit card ready to pay registration fees when registration opens.
A WCA ID will be assigned to you shortly after your first competition.
A list of WCA competitions can be found here, use the map feature to search by location. A specific list of Southern competitions can be found on the upcoming competitions tab of this website.
